Proverb Poster Workshop Work

Final brief before reading week!
Exciting!
Oh wait, we only have a week to do this one, NOOO.

Our final brief is based on the use of proverbs, and our aim is to create a set of 3 posters, created on an A3 2:1 format, that communicates our proverb to a target audience.

My proverb is 'Silence is Golden'.

We then had a workshop, where we came up with 45-50 thumbnail ideas, and after that I also started to draw up some of my ideas in a more detailed way, so that I would have some solid ideas to begin experimenting with on illustrator/photoshop.

Apologies for the poor quality of the images. This is basically the development of my ideas.
I tried to look at a variety of ways to convey silence quickly to an audience, such as the finger over the mouth, then zip over the mouth, the mute symbol and also the rose is another image related to silence, according to mythologies.
The final two design sheets I was beginning to focus more on some initial designs for ideas I felt would work best, including a SHHHH poster, and a Silence is Golden? poster. Initially, these designs are being based on the idea that silence is golden is not a wise saying, and are being created in the context of domestic abuse, urging women to speak out, although I'm unsure whether they will be too complex for the simple symbol idea Amber was talking to use about. I looked at places where silence is golden, such as libraries, schools, hotels etc and places silence is not, such as when it comes to women's rights, or protesting, or the rights of minorities.
At the moment, I'm just going to try and get onto the computers, and experiment and see where that takes me.
