Guide to Hierarchy in Typography

Found on the Paper Leaf Design Agency Blog, this is a really interesting and helpful piece on hierarchy within typography, and how to work with a number of design elements within typography and layout.
Very useful to find whilst doing our task on typography hierarchies for Fred.

These images evidence the basic rules. With the first page, none of the information stands out because it is all the same size, font, boldness etc. At a first glance, you would have no idea what information was being presented to you unless you had the time to read the entire page.

With the second page, everything is clear cut, with obvious divisions, a variety of weights and heights within the type (such as the main title being the largest piece of text to signify it's importance), the text is aligned into smaller columns, and titles are presented in white onto a black background, which again signifies it's importance to the reader.

As well as being an example of hierarchy, the second page includes a lot of information for the viewer about many elements of being a typographer that are important to know.
AMAZING.
