How To Cook Without Wasting Time or Money

For research sake, I took a photo of my shopping receipt from my weekly shop. Usually, I don't buy as much as this, but I was running low on a few things. Usually, I can average out my spend at around £10, because I mainly buy fruit and veg from Headingley's Green Grocer, and my meat from the butchers next door.

Sunflower oil is much cheaper than olive oil, and is a decent substitute. This 1ltr bottle cost me £1.45, as opposed to a Smaller bottle of Olive Oil costing me over £2.50.
Carbohydrates are staples in everyone's diet, and they have lasted me since I got here in September. The Vermicelli noodles cost under £1, and I think I remember the Tagliatelle costing me around £1.30

They may not be total staples in my diet, but these were both own brand products that were about £1 cheaper each than an actual branded product.
45p for English Mustard
30p for 100g of Dark Chocolate
The dark chocolate is for baking cheaply.
The English Mustard was the best value product I bought because it will last me a long time, and a little of it goes a long way and is useful in cooking numerous things.
