Here are the ideas I've been working on today, which I've developed from my initial notes and some rough sketches on other design sheets. I feel like I'm actually getting somewhere with them now. My main ideas have been to create something as a police officer urging women and men to tell someone if they're suffering from domestic violence, or to urge other police officers under strain to call a helpline so they can deal with their stress in a healthy way. A lot of my ideas have centred around the idea of opening up and breaking the silence, and I've been trying to make sure to include silence is golden within any text so that it doesn't feel too forced. The idea of opening up has worked well because of the fact its a mail shot, and I've been working with folded business cards or booklets where you open them, creating something a little more interactive.
I've also tried to create some more unique ideas, such as the happy families home, which I would either create in felt or card. It's supposed to have a 1950's Cath Kidston feel, but behind the door is something sinister, which would really get the message of domestic violence across because it's a total contrast between the innocence of the design and the message included.
Another idea I had linked back to my 3 posters, and used the idea of the mute symbol with a speech bubble. This idea is my simplest one, but I feel like it could look really effective.
These are some mock ups of my ideas.
At the moment I'm just waiting for the crit to see which idea would be the best to go with, but at the moment I'm torn between the speech bubble and the house.
Hopefully my ideas don't get slated!
