Some design sheets and mock ups I've been working on today, which are going to package/envelope my speech bubble card design. I don't want the envelope to fight with the design of the speech bubble, so I don't want to be creating another concept for the packaging which doesn't fit. So far my main idea that I've kept going back to is creating the envelope so that when you open the envelope flap, it creates the basic silhouette of a house. Before you open the envelope flap, the text would read either 'THIS MESSAGE IS DESIGNED TO...' or 'THIS IS DESIGNED TO...', and once opened the writing will read 'HIT HOME'. I've decided that text is the most important design aspect because i am trying to keep the rest of it so simple, so the text I'm using will be delivering the important element of it being high impact. The text works because it links to the shape of the envelope being a home, and also to the main concept of domestic violence. The text is also similar to that on my posters and the speech bubble - concise, authoritative and immediate.
My main concern with it at the moment is what I should be including in the envelope. I'm unsure whether to create it so that there are a number of speech bubble cards being sent, or whether to simply send one that acts as a sort of introduction to the design, and then the hospitals/womens shelters I send them to would reply on the enclosed mini order form indicating their interest in them. This could then lead onto me producing the speech bubble cards on a larger scale, hypothetically.
I would want to send the recipients more cards because I want them to be handed out to the women/men concerned, instead of it being something they could only read and then leave.
