//HOW TO//POSSIBLE POSTER DESIGNS

These are some possible teaser poster designs for the promotion of our fashion app.

The posters are above are the simplest, with just 3 large stripes in different, bold colours that people mainly associate with stripey clothing - the newcastle strip, the striped top Wally wears in 'Where's Wally?' and nautical sailor stripes.

The impact of the strong colours and the simple design do make them useful as a starting point, but as they do not include the pin code, they make it almost impossible to learn any new information about Stripey Friday, so whilst I like the design, they needed to be developed with a small amount of written detail

.

 These designs now include the smallest amount of information possible to make the promotion of the fashion app successful. Whilst I like the different style of the first poster, simply because it includes the simple text and the pin code, I'm unsure whether the small and centred information makes it more eye catching or less. I have included the date as well as the pin code because it helps to remind people in the know of the day, whilst referencing teaser posters for films, who display their release dates.
The red stripes with the centred information feels more relevant, but I'm unsure of the composition, and I wanted to experiment with the way the details are presented, and whether I should add maybe a little more text.

This is the only poster I have designed in landscape because I wanted to try and experiment with as many different design possibilities. I do like the idea of the stripes being longer, and it also feels a little more like a film poster. The SF initials add more intrigue and another aspect to the design, whilst almost blending in the blue stripes keeps it looking more hidden and secretive, which was one of our aims for our own brief. The presentation of the date and pin code is the only thing I was unsure of, because I'm not sure if they look as carefully placed as they should, although I do like each piece of information being placed in a white stripe.

These are the latest poster designs I've created. With the last 2, I experimented with the presentation of the date and the pin code, again adding the initials for Stripey Friday to create more interest in the design. I also faded it out a little so that whilst the design catches the eye, it isn't overwhelming to the viewer.

Other people in my blog have created poster designs using striped animals or things with striped features, so I wanted to create these as a different style so we have as much as possible to show in our group crit.

I do think that they fulfill the purpose of informing people in a subtle manner about Stripey Friday, and in a design that the graphic design students will which appreciate, as they are our main audience.
